Path of Exile 2 has just received its massive 0.2.0 update, "Dawn of the Hunt," and it's a game-changer! This patch brings a wealth of new content, significant endgame adjustments, and a plethora of quality-of-life improvements. Let's dive into the highlights:


New Playable Content and Features:

  • The Huntress: A brand-new playable character class joins the fray, bringing unique gameplay and build possibilities.

  • Ascendancy Classes: The Huntress gains the Amazon and Ritualist Ascendancy classes. Other classes also get new ascendancies like the Smith of Kitava (Warrior), Tactician (Mercenary) and Lich (Witch).

  • New Skills and Supports: Over 25 new skills, primarily spear-focused, and over 100 new support gems have been added, expanding build diversity.

  • New Item Classes: Spears and Bucklers join the item pool, alongside over 100 new Unique items.

  • Endgame Maps and Encounters: Eight new endgame maps with unique encounters and rewards, including Unique Strongboxes and Rogue Exiles.

  • Azmerian Wisps: A new dynamic encounter mechanic where spirits lead you through maps, empowering monsters and increasing rewards.

  • Socketable Items and Crafting: 15 new socketable items with craftable modifiers.

  • Twilight Reliquary Key: A new endgame item that unlocks special foil versions of Unique items.

  • Essence Corruption: Essences can now be corrupted with Vaal Orbs for unpredictable outcomes, including new Corrupted Essences.

  • Visual and Audio Improvements: Continued enhancements to sound, art, effects, and environments


Endgame Overhaul:

  • Corrupted Nexus: Areas of Corruption now have a central nexus, offering new challenges and Crystalline Shard rewards for Atlas Passive Skill points.

  • Cleansed Maps: Cleansing a Nexus transforms surrounding maps into Cleansed Maps with unique monsters and rewards, including the new Fracturing Orb.

  • Fracturing Orb: A new crafting orb that locks a random modifier on rare items.

  • Map Respawn System: A revamped respawn system with limited attempts per map, scaling with map modifiers.

  • Tower and Tablet Adjustments: Significant changes to Tower mechanics and Tablet modifiers for a more engaging endgame experience.

  • Waystone Redesign: A complete redesign of Waystone acquisition and mechanics, making them more reliable.

  • Expedition Recombination: A new crafting mechanic in Expedition that allows combining mods from two items.

  • Simulacrum, Breach, and Delirium Changes: Adjustments to these endgame encounters for better balance and rewards.

  • Pinnacle Boss Changes: Pinnacle boss content is now easier to access and complete at lower difficulties.


Passive Skill Tree and Skill Changes:

  • New passive skill clusters and reworks to existing ones, including new Keystones.

  • Significant balancing and adjustments to numerous skills and support gems.

  • Changes to player and monster mechanics, including stun, ailments, and charge systems.


Item and Monster Adjustments:

  • Numerous Unique item changes and rebalancing.

  • Adjustments to item modifiers and crafting mechanics.

  • Monster balancing, including boss adjustments and new monster modifiers.


Quality of Life Improvements:

  • Spectating party members after death.

  • Controller improvements, including minimap panning and targeting adjustments.

  • UI enhancements, including skill descriptions and character panel updates.

  • Bug fixes.


"Dawn of the Hunt" is a massive update that significantly reshapes Path of Exile 2.
